With recent additions of decking and air conditioning unit cladding, the terrace was primed for enhancements to create a warm, inviting outdoor space. Given the property’s roof extension (used as a home office with expansive sliding doors) , designing for an uninterrupted view of the city skyline was a priority. The approach required softening the space without obstructing these open views while also ensuring privacy from neighboring terraces and buildings.
In this project bespoke frames were designed and set within the planters, creating a structure for climbing plants to grow and gradually thicken, enhancing privacy over time. For seating, delicate yet durable sofas and armchairs from Tribù provide a comfortable, light presence, balancing the terrace’s limited space. A large, low coffee table with green-glazed tiles from Cane-line complements the tones of the surrounding plants, bringing a harmonious connection between the furniture and greenery. Custom-made planters with ample depth accommodate a range of plants, ensuring visual interest and lushness throughout the year.
Neutral-hued planters and furniture reflect the interior’s soft furnishings, with accents of orange introduced to echo the property’s cabinetry. Discreet lighting within the planting areas adds warmth, casting soft illumination in the evenings and extending the terrace’s usability. A hidden irrigation system supports a low-maintenance environment, ensuring that the terrace remains vibrant with minimal upkeep, making it an inviting retreat in any season.
